Furusato from "Rapsody Japan" by Shingo Fujii (*1954)
Gitarrissima performs the last movement of "Rhapsody Japan" - an exciting medley of 6 Japanese popular folk-songs arranged for two guitars by Shingo Fujii.
"Furusato" (eng. "hometown") was composed in 1914 with music by Teiichi Okano and lyrics by Tatsuyuki Takano. The song describes a person who is working in a distant land, expressing his feelings of nostalgia for the hills and fields of his childhood home.
In 2015 young Russian composer Evgeniy Vishkov adapted Shingo Fujii's arrangement for Gitarrissima.
